The origins
In the early 1990s, when technical production for live events was still developing in Portugal, a path began to take shape driven by persistence and technical rigor. Jorge Pina played a key role in the origin of this journey, bringing into the field the experience he had built through music and radio.
His connection to the live music scene allowed the first steps in concerts and events, gradually building a network of knowledge and professional relationships that would later support the growth of the project.
The early years
During the first years, when the activity operated under the name Som Máximo, the structure was small and every production required a high level of versatility. Marco Marcelino was present from the very beginning, at a time when resources were limited and the technical environment was still largely analogue.
It was common to take on several roles within the same production — from logistics and transport to system setup and operation — ensuring that every show could happen successfully. That commitment helped establish the foundations for the company’s future growth.
Technical evolution
In 2008, Marco Esteves joined the company during a period of rapid technological development in the live events industry. The evolution of audio systems and large-scale productions required increasingly advanced technical knowledge and system integration.
With a deep understanding of professional audio systems and a strong commitment to continuous improvement, he played an important role in the evolution of the company’s technical standards and equipment choices, helping to keep the operation aligned with the demands of international artists and complex productions.
Large-scale productions
Over the years, the company grew alongside the evolution of the live entertainment industry, contributing to concerts, festivals and large-scale productions across Portugal.
Productions involving both national and international artists became part of the company’s regular activity, requiring increasingly sophisticated technical solutions and highly experienced crews. Each project brought new challenges, contributing to the continuous development of both the team and the technical infrastructure.
Today
Today, Audiomatrix is part of a group that integrates several complementary areas and a multidisciplinary team of more than one hundred professionals working across audio, lighting, rigging and technical production.
Maintaining the same commitment to reliability and technical excellence that defined its early years, the company continues to follow the technological evolution of the industry and contributes to some of the largest live productions taking place in Portugal.
